Pleasant Grove Serviceman Gets Response for Korean Aid Project The response to a plea by 2nd Lieutenant Robert G. Macfarlane through his parents Mr. and Mrs. Jack Macfarlane, has stimulated .a warm response from students of the Pleasant Grove High School. Lt. Macfarlane wrote his parents that the servicemen of his group in Korea were planning a Christmas Christ-mas party for six hundred destitute desti-tute Korean children; and asked that clothing be sent to them six weeks in advance. His parents placed the letter on the Sixth Ward Bulletin Board, where it was seen by some of Miss Helen Weeks' Future Homemaker girls. As a result-the girls have collected 80 pounds of winter clothing and now have it ready for shipment. In his letter of appeal, Lt. Macfarlane Mac-farlane stated that the Korean people live in mud walled, thatched roofed houses, having only the food they grew in their pitifully small fields. According to Miss Weeks, the girls responsible for this humanitarian humani-tarian project are: Shelia Mitchell, Lynda Sorenson, Neola Gillman, Jeannie Holdaway, Myrla Williams, Wil-liams, Donna Issacson, Marielm Huish, Carolyn Gates, Bonnie Robertson, Carla Sykes, Karen Robinson, Karolyn Swenson, Myr-na Myr-na Turner, Charmane Iverson, Donna Jarvis, Nola Ash and Vema Hudson. |
