Walker appeared ap-peared representing the Chamber of Commerce, and proposed that the cit install street markers throughout Pleasant Grove; provided provi-ded the Chamber of Commerce pay 50 per cent of the cost. Mayor Lewis Olpin referred the matter to Chairman Bert Bezzant and the streets committee with power to act. 25 Years Ago In the Utah County elections held last Tuesday, the Democrats were successful in electing most of their candidates. J. W. Gillman, (D) nosed out W. W. Warnick (R) for 2-year County Commissioner by a close majority of 53 votes. 25 Years Ago A ladies double trio has been organized at Pleasant Grove High School. Margaret Marrott is the accompanist. ac-companist. 25 Years Ago Marion Adamson was shot in the arm and neck Sunday while hunting pheasants in Manila. He and Wesley Jense were hunting near the W. W. Warnick farm. Mr. Adamson saw a hunter in a nearby near-by thicket raise his gun to fire at a speeding bird. He threw up his arm in time to protect his face. Roland Jacobs, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. W .Jacobs will be honored hon-ored Sunday night with a missionary mission-ary farewell service in the Tabernacle. Taber-nacle. He will leave the following Monday Mon-day for the Church Mission Home in Salt Lake City. On November 26, he expects to sail from New York to his field of labor in France. 25 Years Ago Funeral services will be conducted conduc-ted today at 2:30 p.m. for Mrs. Cecelia Christiansen, 83, who died Wednesday at the home of a 'laughter, Mrs. Josephine Bezzant in Pleasant Grove. In addition to Mrs. Bezzant, she is survived by the following children: child-ren: Mrs. Annie Ellis, William Christensen, Mrs. Amanda Cob-bley, Cob-bley, and Mrs. Stina Darling. |
