Show Duane Harper Funeral Rites Set for Friday Samuel Duane Harper, 64, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Marvin (Helen) Radmall of Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove Monday morning after a long illness. He was born at Lin-don, Lin-don, June 19, 1891, the son of John and Elnora Cobbley Hai-per. In 1903 the family moved to Blackfoct, Ida., where he attended grade school and Blackfoot High School. He manned Chloe Thome August 29, 1917 in the Salt Lake' LDS Temple. They lived in Idaho for three years, before, moving to Pleasant Grove where they have resided since. Active in the LDS Church and civic affairs, he has served as president pres-ident of the Elders Quorum, and the Seventies Quorum for several years; as a member of the Tim-panogos Tim-panogos Stake High Council for five years, and in many other church positions. As a leader in the community, Mr. Harper acted as mayor of Pleasant Grove from 1942 until 1945, and had also served serv-ed as a member of the city council coun-cil for four years. He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Marvin (Helen) Radmall of Pleasant Grove, a son, Roy Thorne Harper of Lovell, Wyo., and four grandchildren. The following brothers and sisters also survive: James B. Haiper of Bon-ners Bon-ners Ferry, Ida.; Leo Harper of Firth, Ida.; Mai-vin H. Harper and Mrs. Cecil Pendlebuny of Black- foot, Ida.; Mrs. Lucille Sorenson of Idaho Falls, Ida.; and Mrs. Ella Lord of Roberts, Ida. Funeral services will be con-ducte con-ducte dFriday, Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. in the Timpanogos Stake Tabernacle, Taber-nacle, directed by Bishop Boyd Seeley of the Pleasant Grove First Ward. Friends may call at the Olpin-Sundberg Mortuary at Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove on Thursday from 7 until un-til 9 p.m. and at his home Friday morning until time of service. Burial Bur-ial will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. |
