Show Reception Honors Dale Morton, Recently Married Friday evening, Sept. 9, a wedding wed-ding reception was held in the Lindon Lin-don Ward Chapel honoring Mr. and Mr s. Dale Morton, whose marriage mar-riage was solemnized earlier in the day in the Salt Lake Temple, with Elder Raymond H. Clayton officiating offic-iating and both couple's parents in attendance. The new Mrs. Morton is the former for-mer Miss Loree Cardon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Cardon of Durango, Colo. The groom is a son of Mr-, and Mrs. Robert N. Morton Mor-ton of Lindon. For the reception the bride wore a handmade, floor-length bridal gown of white satin -with Peter Pan collar and long sleeves. With her gown she wore a crown to which was fastened a waist-length veil of white tulle. She carried a bouquet of pink and white carnations. carna-tions. Attending the bride was her sister, sis-ter, Ellen Cardon, whose semi-formal was blue with blue and pink net over the skirt. She wore a white carnation at her waist. The bride's mother- wore a street length brown crepe dress with yellow yel-low trim, while the bridegroom's mother wore a street length dark gray crepe dress. To each of their dresses was pinned a corsage of ping carnations. Alfred Morton, the groom "s brother, was, best man. Bedecking the stage of the reception re-ception hall were red roses and pink and white daisies and adding more color and interest to the large room was the arch decorated decora-ted with ' gladioli and colorful daisies under which the newlyweds greeted their guests. Organ and accordian music was provided for receiving and dancing with Dale Bates at the Hammond or gan. Following the receiving and dancing there was a program. Handling the guest register were Mr. and Mrs. Nyle T. Harris and Afton Morton took care of the gifts. The Mia Maids of the ward served ser-ved refreshments to the guests in the Relief Society room where the wedding- cake set on a long table covered with a white-netted cloth amid lighted candles and flower sprays. For their honeymoon in Utah and Colorado, Mrs. Morton chose to wear a pink suit. Mr. Morton was graduated from the Pleasant Grove High School in 1949. An expert on radio and television tele-vision servicing he was a student at DeForest's Technical Institute in Chicago, 111., where he received his training in television, radio, and electronics, as well as a diploma dip-loma for completing the course. Ventriloquism is also along Mr. Morton's line of interests. He completed com-pleted an LDS mission to the Western Wes-tern States where he met Miss Cardon in Color-ado. His bride, a beautician, was graduated from Durango High Schcol in 1951 and attended the Western Slope Beauty School in Grand Junction, Color-ado, graduating grad-uating in Feb. 1955. A reception for the bride and groom will be held in the Durango Dur-ango Ward Chapel this evening for the young couple. |
