Show Schools to Hold Fair Day With Own Exhibits In harmony with the Community Commun-ity Fair activities both the Central and Groveerest Schools will conduct con-duct exhibitions of their own. Fruit and vegetables, flowers, dolls, handicraft han-dicraft and baked foods will be brought by the children. The Principals Prin-cipals stated that the articles of handicraft and cookery must be made by the children themselves. The other items may be brought from the farms or gardens of parents par-ents or friends. Principal Donna Ash reported that a PTA organization meeting was held Thursday evening at the school. The results were not in time for publication this week. Several parents of Groveerest children attended a regional meeting meet-ing of PTA workers at Spanisli Fork on August 31. At this moeting moet-ing Mrs. E. M. Williams was selected selec-ted as temporary chairman to preside pre-side at the Groveerest election. Other who attended in addition to Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Ash were Mrs. Charles Wamick, Mrs. Toby Hirabayashi, Mrs. Art J. Meredith, Mrs. Harold Prestwich, Mrs. Ernest Ern-est Morgan and Mrs. T. M. Thomson. Thom-son. Playground equipment has arrived ar-rived at the Groveerest school and will be in place soon. Junior Police have been "sworn in" at the Central School, according accord-ing to Principal Walker. The ceremony cere-mony was conducted Wednesday by Mayor Edward Roberts, Police Chief Glen Newman and Police Officer Of-ficer John Huntsman. Mr. Huntsman Hunts-man is in direct charge of the youthful officers. An urgent call is being made by music instructor Irwin Jensen fm unused violins. At least 40 students are interested in violin study at the Central School alone. If anyone any-one has a violin to rent or soli they should contact the school at once. Both elementary school principals princi-pals expressed appreciation to the Lions club for furnishing the ribbons, rib-bons, plates, and encouragement for the school fairs on September 23. |
