Show Lindon Council Has Business Meet Recently After the reading of the minutes of last month's City Council meeting, meet-ing, the meeting of the Lindon City Council began with the submission sub-mission of plans for a proposed building on the lower highway. Corrections were suggested by the councilmcn, and Russell A. Larson, Lar-son, the submittor of the plan, agreed with the council's ruling, whereupon the council approved the plan. City marshall Oliver Johnson asked for a raise in salary. According Ac-cording to Mr. Johnson, his existing exist-ing $50 a month wage does not compensate for the time needed and expenses involved in carrying out his various assigned duties. It was moved that Mr. Johnson be given a $25 a month raise retroactive retro-active to Aug. 15. Furthermore, Mr. Johnson agred to make an effort ef-fort to attend school for law enforcement en-forcement officers. Mayor Harold Keetch asked Mr. Johnson about the traffic violations viola-tions by minors, a problem discussed dis-cussed at the August meeting. Mr. Johnson reported that he'd had no trouble since the publication in the Pleasant Grove Review that citations cita-tions and fines would be imposed on all minors violating the traffic code. Contacting the Mayor recently, Howard Jensen expressed the desire de-sire to build a new subdivision. It was unanimously agreed by the councilmen that any new buildings must comply with the ordinance plans and that plans must be submitted sub-mitted and approved. Also, it was clearly stated that new streets be graveled and completely finished before any building action takes place. Attention of the councilmen was called to the wearing away of the culvert down from the Ray Fautin home and the need for enlarging the culvert in front of the Rube Tomlinson home. Suggestions as how to collect delinquent street assessme n t s which amount to approximately $1000 were taken into consideration considera-tion since there is urgent need for more road work. |
