Show last Friday from Utah Valley Hospital Hos-pital where he was taken last Tuesday for treatment of an infection in-fection in his foot, an aftermath of an accident suffered two years ago. The Willard Johnsons are welcoming- home as their guest this week their daughter, Mrs. Boyd Williams (Milla Mae) of American Fork, whoso husband is working in Moab. The reorganized Junior Sunday School leaders of the Lindon Second Sec-ond 'Ward have been named by the Bishop's first counselor, Willis Lar-sen. Lar-sen. Former superintendent Mah-lon Mah-lon Smith was replaced by Oliver Johnson, while the two assistants, Truvere Hardman and Lee Swen-son Swen-son were replaced by Weldon Bird and Lon Hooley. Taking over the job of secretary for Janice Gillman is Marie Johnson. John-son. Ellas Smith was retained as Junior Sunday School coordinator and the same team hers will carry on. For the eighth jonsecutive year the Lindon Fair Board staged its annual party for the sponsors of the queen contest and the winning royalty. Until this year, however, the parties have honored the 4-H Club sponsors, but this year the sponsorship was under the direction direc-tion of the Primary Association. This year's royalty plus Larks and Bluebirds, and the Seagulls, along- with their teachers and primary pri-mary officers, including the two Linden Ward Primary presidents, Doris Hooley and Mae Jacklin. en- Lindon Locals Mr. and Mrs. H. V. Holdaway drove their son R.obert to Salt Lake City Tuesday evening where he caught a bus for Fort Benning, Ga. Robert, who is with the U.S. Army was home on a 14-day leave. Riding to the bus station with their parents and Robert. Maureen Maur-een and Dennis were present to bid their brother adieu. A grand finale to the tune of a weiner and marshmallow roast and watermelon bust was held in Provo Canyon Saturday night for the Lindon Utes to celebrate the close of a successful baseball season. The party, which was strictly a man's affair, was attended by 28 players, who spent the evening in eating and playing Softball. Under Un-der the direction of coaches Willis Larsen and Dale and Lowell Gill-man Gill-man the Lindon Utes won third place in the P.G. Little Leag'ue. The team has been comprised of 33 players. joyed a hamburger fry and fun at the City Park last week. Also honored hon-ored at the gathering were the Boy Scouts who ran the dart game at the Community Fair and turned their proceeds over to the Fair Board to help finance the fair. Arriving Sunday evening, Lionel Harris, brother of Kenneth E. Harris Har-ris of the Utah State Highway Patrol, left early Wednesday morning mor-ning for his home in Scottsbluff, Neb., after visiting relatives and friends here. Lionel is the superintendent super-intendent of the U.S. Governmental Governmen-tal Experimental Station for the University of Nebraska at Scottsbluff, Scotts-bluff, and visited with his brother broth-er Kenneth and his family; his mother, Mrs. Margaret Harris of Lindon! and his sister, Mrs. Oscar Evans and her family of Pleasant Grove. A graduate of the Brig-ham Brig-ham Young University, he visited the campus to renew friendships with everal of his former instructors instruc-tors and classmates. Archie Brady returned home |
