Show Skilled Workers deeded For Utah Industry A deficiency of skilled workers is Utah's most serious shortage in basic industry according to Joseph Jos-eph Rosenblatt, president and manager of Eimco Corporation. In an address at the State Capitol Cap-itol Friday afternoon, November 21st, Mr. Rosenblatt stated that it is practically impossible to employ layout men, machinists, welders, pattern makers and foundry men, and that as a result, basic industry indus-try is having serious difficulty in meeting its committments. Eimco Corporation and other basic industries in the area can absorb all the trained workers that trade and industrial education educat-ion can provide, according to the Eimco chief. In reply to the question as to how vocational education can meet thish need he replied, "this can be done only by acquainting our youth with the Industrial employment employ-ment opportunities in Utah. We must Inform high school students of the avenues into industry thru vocational training and appen-ticeship." appen-ticeship." The Friday conference was the second in a series of conferences with the leading industrialists being conducted by the division of trade and industrial education under the direction of Von H. Robertson, in an effort to more closely coordinate vocational training with the needs of industry. indus-try.
