Show Councilmen Work On Budget For '53 City councilmen are working on budgetry needs of their departments depart-ments for the coming year, which must be submitted and approved in the budget-as-a-whole before Jan. 1. Mayor' W, Robert Marrott stated stat-ed that the 1953 budget will undoubtedly un-doubtedly be somewhat higher than last year, because of needed improvements, growth of the city and expanded utilities. He also said that city valuation is up for the coming year. Improvements to the cemetery and water system will be made in December, money for which has been set aside in the 1952 budget. The mayor said that all graveled gravel-ed streets are graded and will be in much better shape to -withstand a heavy winter than before. Some blacktopping of the streets will take place next spring, he said. The city has purchased a snow-plow snow-plow attachment for the streets truck. It has been on order for thirty days and will cost between be-tween $650 and $700, the mayor stated. , |
