Show New Zoning Ordinance Gets Approval The new Pleasant Grove zoning ordinance was adopted unanimously unanimous-ly by. the city planning commission commiss-ion at a joint meeting between the city council and the zoning body Tuesday night in the city hall.. The meeting was a public gathering gath-ering in which citizens were invited in-vited to state their views on the proposed ordinance, according to Lewis J. Harmer, chairman of the zoning commission. Mr. Harmer stated that no serious ser-ious opposition developed at the meeting, and upon motion to adopt the ordinance, it was moved that it be preesnted to the city council to be enacted into law. The proposed ordinance sets up a residential, business district, industrial in-dustrial district, semi-agricultural district and agricultural district. dist-rict. I, Dale Despain, Provo, director of the Utah County planning Board", was at the meeting and discussed the proposed ordinance, and answered questions pertaining to its setup. The local planning commission is working under authorization of the city council, and was complimented compli-mented on the excellent zoning ordinance that was drawn up. The local commission has been making a study of the city and its zoning needs for the past six months. Those present at Tuesday's meeting were Chairman Harmer, and committeemen John S. Green, Paul Adamson, and Ernest Morgan. Mor-gan. The city was represented by Mayor' W. Robert Marrott, and Councilmen Green, Leo Harvey, and Duane Harper. |
