Show Modernettes Observe 17th Anniversary On Last Thursday The Modernette Club on Thursday Thurs-day afternoon observed the seventeenth seven-teenth anniversary of the founding found-ing of the club. The party was held in the beautiful gardens at the home of Ruth Cobbley. The new officers of the club, Fern Maxfield President; Ruth Cobbley and Lois Smith, reporter, were hostesses, and really did themselves proud, in arranging the delightful afternoon. The tasty luncheon, featuring fried chicken was served on small tables, at which each club member seated a guest. Following luncheon competitive table games were played. Maxine West won the club prize and the guest prize -went to Duana Swenson. Club members and their guests were: Afton Fryer, her guest Ra-nae Ra-nae Tomlinson; Lois Smith, Verona B. Holdaway, who was welcomed as a club member; Pearl Fowlke, Naoma Jolley, Alta Noble, Violet Beers; Loraine Boyer, Duana Swenson; Virginia Chipman, Madge Mad-ge Gillman; Maxine West, Ida Mae Crofts; Mary Leone Jense; Naomi Walker, Verda Fen ton; Ruth Cobbley, Cob-bley, Arclith Lewis;' Fern Maxfield, Gwen Maxfield. |
