The winning articles included clothing for both children and a-dults, a-dults, bedding, toys and novelties, and many lovely things for use in the home. More than 78 blue ribbons rib-bons were won. All of these articles will be on sale at the annual Ward Bazaar, set tentatively for the first week in November. The sponsors of the "Sew with Cotton Bags" contest are the Textile Tex-tile Bag Manufacturers Association Associa-tion and the Singer Sewing Machine Mach-ine Company. Mrs. Faye Belliston is president of the Fourth Ward Reief Society and is assisted by Fern Hicks and Hazel Bullock, counselors, and Druscilla Smith, secretary. Mrs. Fern Hicks was work director for the project. A very interesting and note worthy wor-thy project has recently been completed com-pleted by the Pleasant Grove 4th Ward Relief Society. This project, "Sew with Cotton Bags" was started star-ted on June 17th, and completed in approximately nine weeks. Meetings Meet-ings were held every Wednesday at different homes or at the Church. Quilting, embroidery work and textile painting and machine work was clone, clothing was cut out and sewed or taken home by Relief Society members to be completed com-pleted and returned. Well over 300 articles were made and assembled by the women of the ward. On Friday of last week, the completed com-pleted articles were displayed in the Social Hall of the BYU and tied for first place with the River-grove River-grove First Ward of Provo. The two wards will enter their exhibits exhib-its at the State Fair in Salt Lake to compete -with exhibits from other oth-er counties for prixes. First prize |
