Show Funeral Services Held Tuesday-For Tuesday-For Earl W. West Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the 2nd-4th 2nd-4th ward LDS chapel for Earl Walker West, "native and for many years a resident of this city, who died Friday at his home in Ogden. Bishop Elwood Allen was in charge. Prayer was offered by J. A. West. Speakers were Reed O. Walker and Harold S. Walker, both cousins cous-ins of the deceased. . Both speakers recalled childhood child-hood memories as they paid tribute tri-bute to the dead man's family and spoke words of faith and hope and encouragement to the bereaved bereav-ed widow and her young family. Warren P. Kirk, accompanied by his wife rendered two vocal numbers num-bers "The Lord's Prayer," and "Going Home." Prelude and post-lude post-lude music was played by Mrs. Harvey Rawlinson. Benediction was pronounced by Loren West. Interment was made in the PI. Grove City cemetery, where Owen West offered the dedicatorial prayer. pray-er. Pall bearers were relatives of the family. Pleasant Grove Second Ward Relief Society cared for the flowers. Earl Walker West, was born in Pleasant Grove, Oct. 1, 1911, to George and Cassie Walker West. He received his education in the schools of this city, and eleven years ago moved to Ogden, -where he was employed at Hill Air Force Base. On Aug. 6, 1934, he married Elizabeth Taylor in Salt Lake City. Survivors include his widow and six sons and daughters Melvin E., Gene T., Curtis, Bonnie Lee, Beverly, Bev-erly, and Pauline, all of Ogden, four brothers, Curtis West, Provo; Hyrum West, American Fork; Ruelen West, Salt Lake City; and Owen West, Denver, two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Carter, Wilmington, Calif., and Mrs. Emma Gerwien, Salt Lake City. Earlier services had been held at 11 a.m. in the Myers and Foul-ger Foul-ger Funeral Home in Ogden. |
