Show Viking News and Views GIRLS BASKETBALL Well, well, it looks as though the basketball season is on its way. Tryouts for the girls basketball bas-ketball team got underway last week. Many fine players turned out to the first tryout. There will be a great deal of good material mat-erial from which to choose a team. As you know Pleasant Grove High School has had very good teams for the past several years. They will have a better team this year. KICKPIN BALL A game of kickpin has been played by the girls of the school every day at noon. The ninth grade has challenged every grade in the school and has successfully success-fully defeated every team. Sow Rations Deficiency of vitamin A in rations for gilts and sows can cause several ' diseases and defects of baby pigs. A FORCAST By David Newman The Vikings will have that new look this year. Shunted out of second place last year, P. G. is building for the future with a bunch of good Juniors to go with two lettermen. If the rooters of the Blue and White feel as optomistic about the "50" chances as I do; I can say that this powerful Viking ball club should carry our school's banners all the way to the state tourney in February. Only a jump behind the second rate team in the circuit last year, the Vikings neters are determined to make up for that disastrious season. Looking ahead this seasons opposition op-position will be great, but with a good coaching staff and a heap of ability, the P. G. squad will show potential power this year. If Earl Giles can muster a stronger fast break, the Vikings should be devastating. |
