Show Cooperation Between Parents And Teachers Is Keynote At Central School Parents Day Cooperation between parents and teachers was the keynote of talks given by Principal Ray S. Merrill and Nurse Mable Jones at the annual Central School Parents Day held last week. With conditions so crowded in the school this year it takes the combined com-bined efforts of both parents and teachers to maintain discipline and a semblance of order, stated Mr. Merrill. Enrollment at the school now is 608, where ideal conditions for a building of this size calls for an enrollment of under 300. Mrs. Jones warned the attending attend-ing patrons of the dangers involved invol-ved where such crowded conditions condit-ions exist. She also advised children child-ren and adults alike to take advantage ad-vantage of the free immunization clinic being held the first Saturday Satur-day of every month at 9 a. m. at the Pleasant Grove city hall. Immunization will not be taken care of at school any more, so parents should take the responsibility responsi-bility of keeping up their child-rens child-rens immunization. P. T. A. President Viola Beers advised that everyone become P. T. A. minded. She introduced Mrs. Leta Thorne, who spoke on the merits of the Parent-Teacher magazine, and Mrs. Maymetta Johnson, who invited everyone to the next P. T. A. meeting on Nov. 30, at the high school. Program numbers were furnished furnish-ed by Miss Paul and Mrs. Told, teachers at Central School and Mrs. Ellen Peterson, a patron of the school. |
