Show TTTttTTTftTttTttTtttttttttTTTTTtTTTTtttTT Viking News and Views SENIOR HOP ASSEMBLY "I Saw the Harbor Lights," was the theme of the Senior Hop assembly as-sembly was held today at Pleasant Pleas-ant G-rove High School. The assembly as-sembly started by a humorous skit of the growing-up of the Senior students from grade school. Wayne Way-ne Mott's "Melody Eight," a high school band composed of some of the students, accompanied by Ly-nell Ly-nell Johnson and Robert Marshall, chairmans of the Hopenode, as they danced the Hopenode. Jean-fune Jean-fune Willet played the lovely piano solo, "Stardust." The Senior boys furnished us with a quartet and they sang, "Goodnight Irene." Following this entertaining assembly as-sembly the Hop committee was introduced by Colleen Allred, last year's Junior Prom chairman. Jeannetta Hardman was in charge of the assembly. The "Melody Eight" furnished us with some encore numbers. SENIOR HOP I saw the Harbor Lights they only told me we were parting. Such is the music to be furnished furnish-ed , for the seniors of Pleasant Grove High School by the versatile versa-tile band of Jack Hanson. The annual Senior Hop will be held tonight at the high school gymn. A large group is expected and everyone is assured a good time. If you havent already got your tickets they will be on sale at the door for $1.50 per. couple. ARMISTICE DAY ASSEMBLY An Armistice Day Assembly was held Friday, Nov. 10, at P. G. H. S., under the direction of the American Legion Post No. 70. Post Commander Raymond Bast-ian Bast-ian was in charge. , The pledge of allegiance to the flag was given by the entire school. The orchestra played "A-merica" "A-merica" directed by Mr. Jensen. Wm. C. Smith offered prayer and the orchestra played the Triumphal Trium-phal March from Aiida. Everyone enjoyed the Marines Hymn by the Mixed Chorus and "My Own A-merica," A-merica," which was sung by the Girls Glee. An excellent oration on the "A-merican "A-merican Constitution" was given by Mary Ann Moyle. Dr. T. Earl Pardoe, of the B. Y. U. presented thoughts . on the signing of the armisitce years ago. He told of life in Germany and how the people in American must guard against such ideas and doctrine doc-trine being infiltrated into this county. The Mixed Chorus concluded with "Keep Watch O'er the Ramparts.'" |
