Show B. H. Adams Gives Fine Talk To Lions Club Burton H. Adams, Utah Co. Commissioner and Vice President of Greater Utah Valley Inc., was the guest speaker at the regular meeting of the Ploasant Grove Lions Club held Wednesday evening eve-ning at the Alpine Grille. The meeting was in charge of President Presi-dent Arza Aadms and included 2 piano duets by Ranae Orton and Geniel Simper. Commissoner Adams gave a very enlightening address, dealing with the development of the Greater Utah Valley organization, and told of some of the things that they had already accomplished accomplish-ed ,and ouslined some of the major objectives for further development of the valley. One of the important matters discussed by the speaker is the importance of buying locally he stated that wherever possible each and everyone of us should buy from our local merchants and other institutions. He pointed out that merchants in the high rent districts are getting more money for merchandie than those who are operating on a lower-overhead. lower-overhead. He also urged the purchasing pur-chasing of Utah County Made Goods, which will keep the money in the county longer. He said that it shouldn't be a one-sided affair, merchants must stock good grades of merchandise and reasonable prices. . but he stressed the point that if we are to build Utah Valley we must do it by everybdy cooperating. |
