Show Old Mother Goose Joins 'Cold War' on Soviet WASHINGTON The Voice of America is using nursery stories on its overseas propaganda broadcasts to kid Moscow's extravagant charges charg-es against the west. They try to expose ex-pose by ridicule the upside-down arguments of Jacob Malik, Soviet delegate to the United Nations security se-curity council. The voice version of Mr. Malik says Cinderella was a victim of craven monopolists, and what's more, her case is on the agenda illegally. Mr. Malik is quoted as saying the sparrow that killed Cock Robin was just on a training mission, mis-sion, and was not armed. The unfortunate un-fortunate fate of Little Red Riding Hood's grandmother says Malik cannot be discussed before the wolf is consulted. This music-hall approach to propaganda propa-ganda is used in the voice's political cabaret program. This broadcast is beamed to eastern Europe, where the people are used to political farces on the stage. The voice stories try to show that Mr. Malik's reports on international affairs are just as absurd as the upside-down nursery stories. |
