Show Main Street To Be Decorated With Banners Beautiful red, white and blue S streamers and banners will be used this year to decorate Main street in Pleasant Grove for the 21st annual j Utah Strawberry Day June 18, ac- j cording to Decoration Chairman Bradley. '- The Decorations committee have contracted for the colorful banners for this year, in keeping with the colors used in the Victory Parade. Indications are that all the local business houses will also use the National colors to decorate the -fronts of their business houses. . Strawberry Day, this year, will be the means of attracting a larger ' gathering. This crowd of pleasure seekers, people who have been under war time pressure, will gather at , Pleasant Grove, from all parts of ( Utah. To former residents, Straw- berry Day, serves as a home-coming I party, where old acquaintances have f an opportunity of mingling in fel- ; lowship, with fun the principal idea i for the day. More colorful, this year, will be the ' assemblage. A heavy attendance is j anticipated from service troops sta- f tioned at the air-sub base, located near Pleasant Grove and from Camp 'j Williams- An effort is being made to obtain a military band from Fort i Douglas to head the parade which will be one of the outstanding fea- f tures of the day. This parade hap- ! pens on the morning of June 18 and ' again in the evening of that day. ' Many startling free acts and attractions are billed. These stunts together with Monte Young's Shows ! will furnish the entertainment. Contest for queen and Miss Pleas-and Pleas-and Grove and attendants, is now under way. The general public is invited to participate in this big, free, Strawberry Straw-berry Day celebration and to partake par-take of a goodly portion of luscious Pleasant Grove strawberries.
