Show WPA Play School Mothers Club Holds Xmas Party Twenty-three mothers of the WPA Play School Mothers club were in attendance at a Christmas party, Friday afternoon at the classroom in the basement of the public library. The children of the morning class entertained with several holiday songs, under the direction of their leader, Mrs. Ellen Tracy. Children of the afternoon class had made corsages with pine twigs and cellophane, cello-phane, and these were presented to the mothers. Annie Carol Proctor, Alpine district dis-trict school supervisor, was the principal speaker. A highlight of the afternoon was the serving of Christmas "treats." The mothers' committee in charge of the event included Mrs. Elgen Leg, Mrs. G. S. Richards, Mrs. Ber-nell Ber-nell Singleton, Mrs. LeRoy R. Griffin, Grif-fin, Mrs. Ed. Moss and Mrs. William Wil-liam Peterson. ' Plans for the January meeting, to which the fathers will be invited, were discussed, and the following mothers appointed as the committee commit-tee in charge: Mrs. Owen Dean, Mrs. Rollo Miller, Mrs. Kenneth McDonald, Mrs. E. T. Hall, Mrs. Laura Larsen, Mrs. Da Millen and Mrs. Albert Pulley. The play school children are preparing pre-paring an operetta, to be presented during the holiday season. Under the direction of Mrs. Tracy they have also decorated the schoolroom appropriately for Christmas. o |
