Show VIKING VIEWS In The News BAND. CONCERT A band concert, under the direction direc-tion of Mr. Jensen, was presented in the assembly Friday. The selections to be played by the band are: 1 Plutocrat 2 Spirit of Dream 3 Aerial Highway 4 National Emblem 5 Voice of the Mount 6 Sing of the Sea 7 Thunder 8 Stars and Stripes 9 National Melodies "Tobias at the Oil Station" a humorous reading, was given by Carol Turner, and a short story by Mr. Johnson. A stunt was presented by Forrest Cullimore, John Hilton and Norman Wright. BAND PANTS DANCE The Pleasant Grove High School Band is holding its annual "Band Pants Dance" tonight, immediately following the Bingham-Pleasant Grove basketball game, according to the dance committee: Forrest Cullimore, Culli-more, John Hilton, and Norman Wright. Funds raised by toe dance will be used to purchase trousers for the band. The fact that Howard Nelson will furnish the music and that refreshments will be sold should insure a good attendance. Prices of admission are 35c per couple and 15c for extra ladies. Leland Baxter PRESEASON SCHEDULE Lining up a preseason schedule which will endow toe team members with experience for the coming season, sea-son, Coach Earl Giles has slated the following games: December 11 East High at P. G. December 13 Bingham at P. G. December 23 P. G. at Bingham. December 27 Wasatch at P. G. Coach Giles also plans games with South High and West High of Salt Lake City, but no definite dates have been set. Kenneth Wright, Elwood Sundberg CHEER" LEADER COSTUMES The cheer leaders, Leah Wadley, Virginia Ellis, and Harvey Christen-sen, Christen-sen, have their uniforms. O boy! ! What class ! ! . They were made by Brockbank Apparel Company, in Salt Lake. The type and style of the outfits is to be kept a secret until toe first league game, January 10, but at that time the cheering section is sure to get a thrill from the pep and classiness classi-ness of the new outfits. STUDENT COUNCIL Senior High Student Council met during toe sixth period, Wednesday, December 4, with president, Kenneth Wright presiding. Topics of discussion were: How to make matinee dances more successful, suc-cessful, distributing the dances over toe entire school year, and putting decorations up in toe school to create Christmas Spirit. Those present were: Ke.meth Wright, Lona Walker, Helen Henrichsen, Hen-richsen, Eleroy West, and Carol Smith. INDIAN LECTURE : The Student Body was entertained entertain-ed Monday afternoon by Morris Barrie, a full-blooded Navajo Indian. His talk covered toe many phases of Indian life and their punishments for law-breakers. Mrs. Hawkins of American Fork, started work on toe Pep Club dresses this week, so as to avoid toe last minute rush. She plans to make twenty-eight dresses by toe week before Christmas. Margaret Atwood "Between toe Book Ends" has been chosen as the theme of toe Junior Prom, which is scheduled for December 20, according to Chairman Chair-man FJroy West. Loraine Wadley has charge of the programs; Beverly West and Irene Carlson, decorations, and Julian West, the advertising. Pleasant Grove high school was represented by seven students at the eighth annual conference of in-termountain in-termountain high school journalists at Brigham Young university Saturday. Satur-day. They were: Lucille Bush, Leland Le-land Baxter, Margaret Atwood, Tyler Ty-ler Rogers, Elwood Sundberg, Kenneth Ken-neth Wright, and Helen Henricksen. o |
