Show Workers Give Annual Reports At Second Ward Conference Hie Second ward annual conference confer-ence held Sunday under the direction direc-tion of Bishop C. R. Clark and stake officials, was attended by , a large gathering of appreciative and responsive ward members. Representing the stake Sunday School superintendency at toe morning morn-ing session following regular Sunday Sun-day School, Warnick . Swenson, expressed ex-pressed appreciation for toe work of toe ward organization and encouraged encour-aged renewed efforts during toe coming year. Mrs. Blanche Nielson also gave a brief talk. Officers and teachers of the ward were presented and sustained under toe direction of Kenneth Wright, stake secretary. Reed Walker, ward superintendent reported on activities during the past year. A story was then ' told by Helen Henrichsen, teacher in the I Primary department. ' At toe priesthood session which I followed M. S. Christiansen of the I stake presidency presided. Reports of quorums were given by ' Harvey Christensen, of toe Priests, Wilford Howard of toe Teachers, Richard Paulson of toe Deacons, and Ernest Jense of toe Adults. Guy Hillman spoke for toe bishopric, expressing appreciation for the work of , the priesthood leaders and members. Bishop C. R. Clark presided over toe general session in toe morning. Music for toe occasion was furnished fur-nished by the Singing Mothers led by Mrs. Viola Beers, accompanies by Mrs. Sarah Clark. Other numbers num-bers were an organ solo by Jennie Gleason and two duets sung by Mrs. Berniece Christensen and Mrs. Lydia Hilton. The invocation and benediction were given by S. A. Kirk of the High Council and Burton Adams of the presidency of toe High Priests quorums of the stake. Speakers were executives of toe various ward organizations, Bishop Clark and President W. W. Warnick. War-nick. ' Representing the genealogical committee, Heber Day told of toe two aims of toe work: a knowledge of work for the dead, and the pro-, uiubiun ui temple wuil. Mrs. Laura Allfed, president of toe Primary Association, reported that 78 per cent of the children attend at-tend Primary regularly. She made a plea for even better attendance, H. C. Robertson, president of the Y. M. M. I. A. urged attendance in toe Special Interest class. He also called attention to toe fine results that might be achieved in social activities ac-tivities if the older people of the ward could be induced to take part in toe M. I. A. dances and activities. Reviewing in brief the history of recreation In the church, Mrs. Maude Richards told how vital is toe M. I. A. program of music, drama and dancing in the lives of young people. "The Relief society points the way for women to grow old beautifully and wisely," said Mrs. Zella Peay, president of the ward organization, as she made a plea for increased membership. President W. W. Warnick spoke of the plan of the Heavenly Father who foresaw, even in the beginning, toe needs of man. and ninnoH thing on earth to add to man's comfort, and most vital, the gospel plan with its message of love and peace to lead man back to God Bishop C. R. Clark in closing paid tribute to the faithful efforts of ward officers. Further he added the suggestion that as the year ends leach individual would do well to take inventory to see Just where he has achieved and where failed In the year's activities. |
