Mr. and Mrs. Davjd Conder of American Fork received the best wishes of their many friends on their fifty-sixth wedding anniversary, anniver-sary, which they observed quietly Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Condor were married December 11, 1884. Both came from pioneer families, Mr. Conder being the son of Edward and Sarah Shelley Shel-ley Conder, and Mrs. Conder the daughter of Frederick and Margaret Thornton Wright (Mary Wright). They have one son, Will Conder of Gunnison, and a daughter, Mrs. Alma Earl of American Fork; eight grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren. Special guests were Mrs. Storrs and Mrs. Leo Nelson. Mrs. Melvin Grant was pleasantly surprised by a group of friends, Thursday evening of last week, on I her birthday. The group included Mr. and Mrs. Owen Humphries, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Singleton, Mr. and Mrs. Afton Stciner, Mr. and Mrs. David Calm, and Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Peterson of Lehi. The reception featured an entertaining enter-taining program, after which, dancing danc-ing was enjoyed and refreshments were served. The program included a reading by Millie Benton, songs by "Tab" and "Bun", a story by Mrs. Nora Ingersoll, a reading by Richard Rich-ard Woods of Salt Lake City, a piano selection by Mary Ellen Woods of Salt Lake City, a cornet selection by Betty Gaisford, remarks by Earl S. Greenwood, a tap dance by Gwen Nelson, and readings by Joan Chad-wick Chad-wick and Mary E: Abel. Earlier in the evening, the family gathered at the home for a dinner, covers being laid for 20. Besides Mr. and Mrs. Webb, those attending included in-cluded Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Hansen; Mrs. Martha Haslam and daughter Berniece, of Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. John Webb of Grace, Idaho; Mr. and Mrs. George Haslam of Helper; Mr. and Mrs. Remo Ariatti of Castlegate; Mrs. E. B. Rucker of Salt Lake City, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Webb were married December 10, 1890, in the Logan temple, tem-ple, by Elder Marriner W. Merrill. Mr. Webb was born in England, on April 12, 1865, a son of William R. and Martha Careless Webb. At the age of five he came to Utah with his parents. The family resided in Salt Lake City two years, and then came to American Fork, where Mr. Webb has since resided. In the early days, he worked in American Fork canyon in the mines and in the timber, and later worked in a shoe shop with his father. He engaged in the shoe repair business I for many years. Active in church work, he served as an L. D. S. missionary mis-sionary to the Southern States'' for three years. He was high councilman council-man for twenty years,' and has served serv-ed in other capacities in the church. Mrs. Mary E. Spratley Webb was bom in American Fork, on July 10, 1868, a daughter of James and Elizabeth Eliza-beth Okey Spratley. She has filled responsible positions in the auxiliary organizations of the L. D. S. church. For 2u years she was second counselor counse-lor In the Relief society of the Fourth ward with President Alice Chadwick Steele, and Elizabeth Shelley as first counselor; president of the Sunshine committee for ten j years; vice captain of the Adams! camp of Daughters of Utah Pioneers for two years; and a Relief society teacher f or 35 years. She has tendered tend-ered great service in the community as a nurse, going into homes whenever when-ever needed. Mr. and Mrs. Webb have been the parents of six children, three of whom are living: Mrs. Lourene Webb Hansen of American Fork, Mrs. Martha Haslam of Stockton, Utah, and John H. Webb of Grace, Idaho.
