Show Attempt Made to Rob Station Another attempt to rob the Union I Pacific Station was made between j mid-night and dawn Thursday night iof last week. R. J. Stice, agent, upon entering his office the next morning discovered that someone had been there during the' night by the scattered scat-tered papers on the floor. The party par-ty had tried to pry the lock on the door separating the waiting room from the office, with a knife which had broken and a skeleton key evidently evi-dently was then used for the door was locked when Mr. Stice arrived and the windows were not disturbed. The money drawer was rifled and papers scattered about however there was no money in the office. The safe, which Mr. Stice had left unlocked, contained but a few papers pap-ers of no value to the intruder and these were undisturbed. No clue as to the identity of the prowler has been discovered but it is probable the visitor was a transient. I |
