February 14:h, I'ne anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Wright's marriage. Mrs. Robert Welsh entertained the School Chums club at her home . last Thursday afternoon. Social ' chut was enjoyed and late in the afternoon a delicious lunch was : served. Mrs. Bernard Welsh and Mrs. Ow en Small were special guests. ! The G. A. club ladies were entertained en-tertained Wednesday night by Mrs. Robert Crooks: on. There were i twenty-four members and two visi-: visi-: tors in attendance. All enjoyed playing games following which the ; hostess served a daintv lunch. i i ! ! The following friends of Mr. and ; : Mrs. Axel Eloomquist of this city ! attended the funeral services of his ' mother, Mrs. Caroline Bloomquist held in Salt Lake City last Friday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. James T. j Gardner, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Sea- strand, Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Grant, Mr. atid Mrs. Kenneth Brown, Bishop : T. A. Greenwor.d, Mrs. Roy Greenwood, Green-wood, Mrs. E. P. McGrew, and Mrs. Clarence Grant. Mr. Gardner and I Mr. Seastrand spoke at the services, which were held in Southgate ward chapel. Interment was made in the Wasatch Lawn cemetery. ! Mr. and Mrs. Stanford Briggs de-i de-i 'ligfitfully entertained a group of their friends at their home last Saturday Sat-urday night. The decorations and color scheme of the delicious lunch served were in the national colors, appropriate for the season. Five tables of bridge were played, Dr. James Chadwick winning the men's prize, and Mrs. LeMoyne Despain the ladies. The guests were Messrs. and Mesdames V. F. Houston, David S. Taylor, E. H. Devey, Glen Sykes, Mark Coddington, Lige Chlpman, James Chadwick, Kenneth E. Noyes and LeMoyne Despain. A wedding dance and reception was held in the Wallsburg church building Friday, February 16th, for Mr. and Mrs. G. M. Graham of that community. Mrs. Graham' before her marriage was Miss June Crystal, Cry-stal, of this city, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Crystal. Friends and relatives of the young couple attended the reception. Mrs. Graham was a graduate of the local high school and took an active part in different activities. Many friends in both communities wish them much success and happiness. happi-ness. A number of parties have been held for the young couple. Am. Forlc Locals Warren Anderson made -a bu:;ines.s trip to Spani.h Fork on Wednesday. Mis. G. M. Gillette and new baby son left the American Fork hospital Monday for their home in Lehi. Miss Nina Halliday, who is teaching teach-ing in Price, spent last week-end here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. II. Halliday. Mrs. William H. Gardner is spending spend-ing a visit of two weeks in Lewis-ten Lewis-ten with her daughter, Mrs. Orson U. Hyer and family. Mrs. Norman Wing Jr. returned home Saturday after spending a week In Provo assisting in caring for a sister who has been quite ill. Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Halliday have returned to their home in Shelley, Idaho, after spending a visit here with Mr. and Mrs. Byron Crookston. W. A. Dennis of Goldhill, is siend-ing siend-ing the' week here with his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Clyde. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Myers are visiting in Sandy today with Mr. and Mrs. Golden S. Baxter and in Salt Lake with Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ken-neth J. Myers. Mrs. Clarence Growers and daughters daugh-ters have returned home to Nephi after a visit of two weeks here with Mrs. Growers' parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Clyde. Mr. Growers spent the week-end here, his family accompanying ac-companying him back to Nephi Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Gurney and daughter, Pauline, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Gurney, of Preston, Idaho, and David Losee of Lehi, spent Tuesday evening here with Bishop and Mrs. T. A. Greenwood. Ten lady friends of Mrs. Byron Crookston gave a party at her home Monday afternoon, the occasion being be-ing her birthday. Bridge was the main diversion following which a delicious lunch was enjoyed. Mrs. Ed Moss was hostess Thursday Thurs-day afternoon of last week to the Bee Orchis club ladies and Mesdames Mes-dames Earl Varney, James Kelly and George Moss as special guests. Needle work and social chat were enjoyed during the afternoon after which a dainty lunch was served. Valentine motifs were used in the decorative and luncheon scheme. Miss Betty Titcomb assisted her sister, sis-ter, Mrs. Moss, in serving. Relatives of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Robinson, who are spending this week here enroute home to Basalt, Idaho, after spending the past two months in California, entertained in their honor last night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Robinson. About forty were present and enjoyed en-joyed games and other social diversions diver-sions followed by a tasty lunch. Mrs. David S. Taylor entertained the members of the Lawata Club and several special guests last Friday Fri-day afternoon. The entertainment scheme was entirely of "depression" suggestion and the guests came attired at-tired in costumes appropriate for the occasion. To Mrs. V. F. Houston Hous-ton was awarded the prize for the best costume. Bridge was played at five tables, Mrs. Clyde Thornton winning the club prize, Mrs. Kenneth Ken-neth Noyes the guest favor and Mrs. Mark Coddington the consolation prize. A tasty lunch was 6erved late in the afternoon. of Mrs. La Rue Morton Wednesday night at the home of her parents, Bishop and Mrs. Lot Robinson. The forepart of the evening was spent in a discussion of problems and making mak-ing plans for the month, after which a social hour was enjoyed and refreshments re-freshments were served. There were 24 present. Mrs. Le Moyne Despain entertained entertain-ed the H. B. Club Monday night at her home. Three tables of bridge were played, the club prize being won by Mrs. Milton Adams and the guest prize by Mrs. Ralph Ellison. Special guests bidden were Mesdames Chris Scott, V. F. Houston, Ralph Ellison and Walter Steffen. A delicious de-licious lunch was served at the small tables. Vergie Clark, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Clark of Alpine, met with an accident while playing on the Alpine school grounds Wednesday Wednes-day morning. While skipping rope she fell and inflicted a bad cut on her chin. She was brought here to the office of Dr. K,E. Noyes here where three stitches were taken to close the wound, which is healing nicely. Mrs. Walter Steffen entertained the members of the Feality club at her home Wednesday evening. The rooms were beautifully decorated in keeping with Valentine season. A delicious lunch was served at four small tables, after which bridge was enjoyed. The club prize was won by Mrs. Harvel Bennett and the guest prize by Mrs. Roy Larson of Garfield.
