Show Reforestation Camp Officially Dedicated Wed. The Reforestation camp, known officially as Camp P-5, iocated on Granite Flat, American Fork canyon, can-yon, was officially dedicated Wednesday Wednes-day evening with an afternoon sports contest, an evening program and a dance in the dinning room. The ceremonies were held in celebration cele-bration of the completion of this camp, which is one of the first in the state which the government created to relieve the unemployed situation. The camp was officially inspected by Brigadier General Peg-ram Whiteworth, Leut. Colonel A. F. Danncmiller and Lent. Colonel Edwin Butcher, all of Fort Don-las Captain L. W. Eggars and Supt. W O. Stephens in charge at the camp directed the insnerf im Tli? evening program was enjoyed by over 500 persons, the camp per-scnell per-scnell and citizens from north Utah county. Frank Countryman was master mas-ter of ceremonies. The dedication prr.yer was pronounced by Ellis Merkley followed by the singing of the "Star Spangled Banner". Charles Char-les DeMorsy. Uintah forest supervisor, supervi-sor, Clifford E. Young, Captain L W Eggars and W. C. Stephens gave brief talks. Music was furnished by a girls chorus of Timpanogos stake, a Pleasant Grove male chorus, Louis L. Bradley and solos by Mrs. Floyd Walker 'and Mrs. Delbert Fugal and a carnp chorus. Andy Seuter gave a comic reading. The camp is made up of three barrack bar-rack buildings, a mess hall and kitchen, shower rooms, officers quarters, hospital, amusement room together with several small out buildings. A water system has been installed and a fine pilay ground leveled off. |
