Show MR. AND MRS. HAROLD NELSON j VISIT WORLD'S FAIR Mr. and Mrs. Harold Nelson of this city, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley S. Rich-' ardson, Milton Hardvigsen and Ad-j rian Sant of Grace, Idaho, all asso- crate teachers last year in the schools at Grace, left May 29 for a trip to the World's fair. They were six days enroute to the fair, visiting points of interest. They spent six days at the fair and according to Mr. Nelson they could have spent 6 months and still find interesting things to see. At Pontiac, Michigan, Mr. Hart-vigson Hart-vigson bought a new car and he and Mr. Sant drove the new car home. Mr. and Mrs. Richardson and the Nelsons continued their trip through 'a strip of Canada to Niagara Falls. .From there they went to Palmyra, New York, and visited the Sacred Grove and the Smith homestead, well known in L. D. S. Church history. They visited the room where the heavenly messenger visited the Pro-j Pro-j phet Joseph Smith. From there they I motored to Washington, D. C, and visited points of interest there. At ; Monticello, they visited the home of i Thomas Jeffers6n; they visited Mt. I Vernon, the home of George Washington; Wash-ington; the Gettysburg cemetery and i the tomb of the unknown Soldier. ! From Washington they motored to Carthage jail where the Prophet Joseph Smith was killed. From here j they crossed the river to Nauvoo and visited the old homes of early day saints prominent in Church history. At Independence, Missouri, the temple tem-ple site and other places of interest I were visited. They also visited the old home of Abraham Lincoln at Springfield, Illinois. They returned home the 20th of June, having made use of all of their time. |
