Show Ten Years Ago Now (Taken from files of June 11, 1927) David Gourley was appointed superintendent sup-erintendent of the Alpine School District for the coming two years, commencing July 1st, 1927. Superintendent Super-intendent Gourley's appointment was made by the school board ot the regular meeting of the board Tuesday afternoon. Ten Years Ago Now L. Stanford Brlggs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Brings, graduated graduat-ed from the University of Utah Tuesday. He received the degree of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. After a short vacation, Stanford will take charge of the prescription department de-partment at the Brlggs Pharmacy. Ten Years Ago Now B. N. Chri.sten.sen has just returned return-ed from a business trip to New York City where he went to investigate investi-gate the egg market for the independent inde-pendent shippers. A report was made to the organization last evening. eve-ning. He found that an additional two to three cents per don could be secured above the prices now being be-ing paid if the eggs were candled. The group voted to candle after the next car and see if the change would prove profitable. Ten Years Ago Now The descendants of John Francis held their annual reunion Wednesday Wednes-day at Lake Shore and Arrowhead Resort. In all 120 members of the Francis family and their families were present, thirty of this number being from American Fork. Mr. Francis, deceased, is the father of Mrs. Rose H. Grant of this city. Ten Years Ago Now The Clayson family, descendants of Thomas and Fannie Essoin Clay-son Clay-son held their regular annual reunion re-union in the Alpine Stake tabernacle on Thursday, June 9th, with Merrill Clayson, chairman of the program committee, hi charge. The reunion opened at 2 o'clock with a program of music, readings, etc., by representatives repre-sentatives of the various branches of the family. From 3:30 to 4 o'clock was spent in effecting a permanent family organiz-ation. |
