Show JOHN HALLIDAY HONORED Pleasant Grove relatives and friends are much pleased at the announcement that John R. Halliday, Halli-day, who grew to manhood here, has heen appointed temporary assistant director of the -famous tabernacle choir. He will replace Sterling Wheelwright who succeeded the late Edward P. Kimball as organist and choir leader for the L. D. S. chapel at Washington, D. C. Mr. Halliday is instructor in the theory of music and vocal art at the B. Y. U. and "for the past two years has directed the Medelssohn male chorus of Provo. He graduated from the Pleasant Grove High School and from the Brigham Young University and also had one year at the State Academy of Music in Berlin, Germany. Ger-many. He will still be able to attend to his duties at the university. |
