Show Power Company 3 Aids Employment Utah Power & Light Company; Keeps pledge to LegMature by hiring 300 men above normal nor-mal Payroll Requirements Substantial direct contributions to local employment relief were made in 1933 by the Utah Power & Light Company in line with its pledge to the last Utah state legislature in addition to its full cooperation with the national recovery program, it was asserted in the annual report of the company. Through cooperation with state and federal agencies, the report explains, ex-plains, the company alone has employed em-ployed 300 men above normal payroll requirements during the winter and. aided generally by substantial purchases pur-chases in the territory. Work accomplished by the extra force includes replacement and strengthening of poles, repairs of transmission lines, inspection of distribution dis-tribution transformers, re-roofing, cleaning and painting of power stations sta-tions and tree trimming over the entire company's system in Utah, southern Idaho and Wyoming. In addition the Salt Lake underground under-ground system has been completely inspected and cleaned, interior of blocks have been inspected and repaired re-paired and lighting standards painted. paint-ed. The company plans to carry on the direct employment work again during the following year. |
