Show Funeral Services For Wm. Parr Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 2 p. m. in the Community Communi-ty Church here for William Parr, 81, for the past eleven years a resident of American Fork. Mr. Parr died Thursday, February 22, at 6 p. m. at the. home of his son, Joseph Parr, of ailments incident to advanced age. The deceased was born December 21, 1853, in Leigh, Lancashire, England, Eng-land, a son of Joseph and Hannah Parr. He came to America in 1902 and being a miner located in Sunny-;side Sunny-;side where he resided until 1923 when he retired from that work and moved to American Fork. His wife, Mrs. Ann Penberton Parr, died here in January, 1931'. Surviving are a son, Joseph Parr, American Fork; five daughters, Mi's. John Mayhew, Raymond, Alberta, Canada; Mrs. Fred Howe and Mrs. Abel Boone, Salt Lake; Mrs. John Bunton, American Fork, and Mrs. Bryce Mitzel Kyle, Ohio; 13 grandchildren grand-children and two great-grandchildren. The Reverend J. O. Arthur was in charge of the services, which were well attended. There were also a number of lovely floral, tributes. Several scripture readings of a consoling con-soling nature, were given and Rev. Arthur offered the prayer and delivered de-livered the sermon. The musical numbers consisted of "Beautiful Isle" sung by a trio composed of Kenneth Robinson, Mrs. La Rue Morton and Rudolph Clark, who also sang "He Knows It All", "I Surrender All" and "Nearer My God to Thee," and Miss Sarah Dixon rendered a violin solo. Mrs. Rudolph Clark was the accompanist. accom-panist. Processional and recessional music was played by Mrs. Rudolph Clark. Interment was made in the American Ameri-can Fork cemetery, where a scripture reading and prayer at the graveside were given by Reverend Arthur. o |
