Show Use of Pencil Urged By Expert By C. O. Stott, Field Represetative General Church Welafre Program Even though the season is well advanced it is not too late now to begin keeping your farm account, if you have not already done so. Generally speaking the "pencil" is the most neglected farm implement. Have you ever thought your pencil as a part of your farm machinery? Some folks say they are afraid to record the figures, as they may show in the red at the end of the season. Such a fear is foolish. There is no question that time spent with the pencil, first planning and budgeting farm and home operations op-erations and secondly recording the actual working out of the plans will pay greater dividends than time spent in any other farm operation. An elaborate set of books is not necessary. Your county agent or your county supervisor will assist you with recommendations on tire kind of record book to use, or you may write to the Church Security office. As much of the guess as possible should be taken out of farming. One of the best ways to do this is to cease depending on memory and record re-cord receipts-and expenses on paper. pa-per. Inventories play a vital part in farm management and should be made annually. Begin now with that record and eliminate some of the guess from the business of fanning. o |
