Show to enlist all citizens in the effort to reduce the number of such accidents. Stop! Look! Listen! i "Stop! Look! Listen!" is the cap-tion cap-tion over another circular issued by W. M. Jeffers, executive vice pres-i pres-i ident of the Union Pacific Railroad, j in the effort to reduce highway ac- cidents, especially those which oc-: oc-: cur on grade crossings. Several hundred miles of trans-continental highways border Union Pacific lines and these are a favorite place for autoists to "race the train," endangering endan-gering not only their own lives but passengers on the trains and other drivers on the roads. During the summer there have been a number of accidents where drivers have tried to "beat the train" over crossings with unfortu- ! nate results for the drivers and many narrow escapes from serious injury or death. Thousands of the new circular have been issued by the railroad and ' sent to its agents in every city for distribution to public officers, to churches, to civic clubs and for post- j ing in railroad stations, hotels or j wherever they may be seen by the i public.
