Show President Signs Farm Measure for 1938 Crop Season An all-round national farm program pro-gram which will help the farmers and at the same time protect consumers con-sumers is planned under the Agricultural Agri-cultural Adjustment Act for 1938 passed by congress recently, and signed by President Roosevelt last week, according to information received re-ceived by Director William Peterson of the Utah State Agricultural college col-lege extension service. Most publicized provision of the 1938 act is the ever-normal granary, section designed to maintain a comparatively com-paratively constant supply of staple farm commodities b stabilizing production pro-duction and arranging for storage of surpluses. Another provision which will be entirely new to Utah wheat farmers is the 100 percent crop insurance on their acreage. This is the first opportunity op-portunity farmers have had to ob- tain wheat crop insurance of such a type. Provisions of the old soil conservation conser-vation program will be continued throughout 1938, Director Peterson I said. Payments will be made, as ' previously, to farmers following approved ap-proved soil conserving and range and soil building practices. Arrange-'. Arrange-'. ments are also made under the plan '. for increases in all payments of ', less than $200, as a special provision , for small farmers.
