Show ALPliiE NEWS Mrs. L. Bates, Reporter. Relatives of Mr. F. C. Clark pleasantly pleas-antly surprised him Thursday evening in honor of his birthday. Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Healey and family have moved back to Alpine where Mr. Healey will have charge of the R. J. Healey farm. Mr. and Mrs. Adin Brown have moved into the Stirling Devey home formerly occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Bennett. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Peterson and children of Provo were Sunday guests of Mrs. Peterson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. D. Strong. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Peterson and children of Morgan, were week-end gnosis of Mrs. Peterson's parents, Mr. and Sirs. S. 0. Strong. Mrs. Robert Hunter spent the week-end with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Crookston at Salt Lake. Mrs. Fred Strong entertained the Young Mothers Club at her home Thursday afternoon. The usual activities activi-ties were engaged in after w-hicli a dainty lunch was served. Mrs. Russell Bates and daughter, Dolores, are spending the week in Salt Lake, where Mrs. Bates was called call-ed on. account of the illness ot her mother, Mrs. Don C. Strong, Jr. The Daughters of the Mountainville Camp of the Utah Pioneers held their regular monthly meeting Friday after noon, at the home of Mrs. George Brown. Mrs. Elizabeth Lamb read a history of her grandmother. A song was rendered by Mrs. A. J. Adams. A story of early day law suits was read by Mrs. Alberta Bennett, A chapter of the history of Utah was given by Mrs. Ida Cameron. Elder "W. B. Smith arrived home Wednesday evening of last week from the California mission. He reports having enjoyed his labors as a short term missionary very much. Elder Smith and Elder Thirl Marsh were the speakers at the sacrament meeting meet-ing Sunday evening and they will also al-so be the speakers next Sunday evening even-ing as they have been called as home missionaries with their first appointment appoint-ment in their home ward. Thursday evening, Mr. and Mrs. A. Robey Forbes assisted by Miss Florence Flor-ence Jones and Miss Rhoda Clark entertained en-tertained at a prettily arranged house party. Progressive "Bunco" was enjoyed en-joyed .together with radio music, after which a dainty luncheon was served to the following: Misses Ber-niece Ber-niece Hunter, Florence (Jones, Rhoda Clark, Vera Street, Blanche Ellison, Doris Forbes, Lucile Walker, Leora Hansen, Messrs. Thirl Marsh, Ray Marsh, Earl Hunter, Fred Forbes, Paul Farbes, Wendell Moyle, LaMar Moyle, Lyman Moyle, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Strong, Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Baternan and the host and hostess. n |
