Show i rr. and Mrs. Walter Strange and i Mr. and Mrs. Allen Shelley motured to Salt Lake City Monday, where they attended "Show Boa'-" at the Granada j Theatre. Mrs. Ddbert Chipman was a business busi-ness visitor in Salt Lake City last Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Duntley of Salt Lai; a City, v. ere visitors Sunday at the home of Mrs. Hannah Dunkley. The M. I. A. Stake board met Tuesday Tues-day evening at the home of Dr. Allan G. Brockbaiik, where plans were made for the coming M. I. A. contest work. A tentative date was set for the first try-outs, and further features of this event outlined, which will be announced at a later date. The Girls Chorus from the Second ward were present and sang their contest number num-ber "Summer Day." The Male Quartet Quar-tet selection "Neath Thy Window" was also given by the Second ward singers. Following the business meeting, refreshments were served. Miss Amy Shelley attended a meeting meet-ing of the N. E. L. A. at the Provo Utah Power and Light office Tuesday. Following a lecture, luncheon was served at the Hotel Roberts. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Condor are the happy parents, of a winsome baby daughter born Wednesday morning. All concerned are doing very nicely. Mrs. Condor was formerly Ruby Brown. Honoring 'their teacher, Mrs. Myron Moyle, formerly Miss Reva Wagstaff, the Gleaner Girls of the Third Ward M. I. A. Pleasantly surprised her Tuesday evening. The girls presented their newly married instructor with a beautiful Boston fern. Games were enjoyed during the evening, after which luncheon was served. There were thirty-five present. Thirty Pleasant Grove friends of Mr. and Mrs. Junius West entertained in their honor Saturday evening at the West home in this city. Following Follow-ing a delicious dinner, games and music were enjoyed. Covers were laid for the following: Mr. and Mrs. Karl Banks, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Fenton, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Smith, Mrs. Ethel Drysdale, Mr. and Mrs. Leo P. Harvey, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph H. Walker, Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Jacobs, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford L. Wright, Dr. and Mrs. J. E. Huchel and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Richards. Mr. and Mrs. Orin Ashton, Mr. and Mrs. Alma Earl, Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Gorden, Mr. and Mrs. O. C Mercer, Mr. and Mrs. T. S. Priday, Miss Amy Shelley, of the local Utah. Power & Light Co., Jennie Nostrum of Lehi, and Mrs. Ethel Drysdale of Pleasant Grove, attended the regular monthly meeting of the Utah. Power & Light Co. employees of the Provo District at Provo last Wednesday evening. American Fork Locals Mr. and Mrs. Byron Crookston wero business visitors in the capitol city Tuesday. Mrs. Margaret Robinson had as her dinner guests last Wednesday evening, Mrs. Jane Crystall, Mrs. Nellie Julian, Mrs. Ann Greenwood, and Mrs. Mao Monson of Blackfoot, Idaho. Air. and Mrs. Kinley Taylor and daughter, Grace, spent last Thursday in Salt Lake on a combined business and pleasure trip. Mrs. Harold Chipman entertained at dinner last Friday evening complimentary compli-mentary to her mother, Mrs. W. L. Stewart, who was celebrating her birthday anniversary. Covers were laid for Mr. and Mrs. Reed Stewart of Bingham; Canyon and Mr. and Mrs. LeGrande Gudmundsen of Payson, besides be-sides the members of the immediate family. The Bee Orchis Ladies were delightfully de-lightfully entertained last. Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Hayden Holindrake. Sewing and music were enjoyed, after which a delicious two course luncheon was served. Special guests were Mrs. Charles Walker, Mrs. Junius A. West and Mrs. John Holindrake. Mr. and Mrs. LeGrande Gudmundsen Gudmund-sen of Payson accompanied by Miss Abe Gudmundsen of (this city, were visitors in Salt Lake City Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Coombs have moved to Kaysville, where Mr. Coombs will be employed with the Mountain States Tel. & Tel. Co. Mr. and' Mrs. Joseph Burton and Mrs. Thomas Des Mayne of Salt Lake City, were Siunday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Edwards. ! ' Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Hunter arrived in this city last Thursday from California, Cali-fornia, and expect to make their home here. They have been residing in San Diego for the past three years. Mrs. Angus Christensen of Copper-ton, Copper-ton, who has been in the Holy Cross hospital, recovering from a recent appendicitis operation, was brought last Friday to the home of her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Birk, where she will stay until she regains her normal health. Samuel Dean, Sr., is recovering from a broken hip and minor injuries, which he sustained Thursday morning, morn-ing, when he collided with the Chip-man Chip-man Mercantile Co. truck. Mr. Dean was riding on his bicycle past the Chipman Lumber office, when he collided col-lided with the truck as it came out of the office scales. From last re. ports he is getting along as well as can be expected. r |
