Show Alpine News Mrs. Leonard Bates, Reporter The many friends of Mr. Alvin Whitby will be pleased to learn that he is recovering from injuries received re-ceived when he fell from a load of hay while trying to disentangle a cable. His neck and back were badly injured. Mr. and Mrs. John Hales and daughter of Miami, Arizona, visited last Sunday at the home of his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Adams. Mrs. Parley Moyle of Modena visited Alpine relatives Wednesday of last week. Mrs. Mary R. Booth accompanied her to Provo and spent several days with relatives. Mrs. Esther Plowgian and daughter daugh-ter of Salt Lake, visited with Mrs. Mary R. Booth for several days. Mrs. Plowgian was formerly Miss Esther Orrulian, a convert of J. W. Booth from Armenia. Mrs. Charles Strike and three children of Butte, Montana, is visiting visit-ing with Mrs. Libbie Lamb and other oth-er relatives. Mrs. Earl M. Devey is reported doing nicely following an operation for goitre at a Salt Lake hospital last Saturday. The Daughters of the Pioneers met Friday afternoon with Mi's. Ellen El-len Smith, Mrs. Alice Brown and Orline Beck entertaining. A history his-tory of the life of Mary Harret Miller Mil-ler was read by her daughter, Mrs. A J. Adams. A song was rendered by Dorothy Brown and Cleone Beck. A reading by Gloria Brown and a reading by Dorothy Brown, a duet by Mrs. Jane Beck and Mrs. Inez Burgess and a reading by Mi's. Thelma Smith. The lesson on Early Fairs and Jubilies in Utah was given by Mrs Annie Clark. Following the program a dainty lunch was served. Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. F. D Strong were, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Peterson and children and Mrs. Ray Strong of Provo; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Strong of Salt Lake, and Mr. and jMrs. wan-en Clark and children of this city. The marriage of Miss Ruth Forbes, daughter of Mi", and Mi's. Joseph A. Forbes, and Mr. Arthur H. Brod-rick Brod-rick of Emery will take place hi the Salt Lake temple Thursday. A reception re-ception will be given in their honor the following evening in the Alpine GTheaSmarriage of Mr. Sheldon Hamnett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alma Hamnett of this city, and M ss Rhea Taggaret, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Joseph S. Taggaret of Salt Lake will take place Saturday, Octobers. A reception wm be gwen the same evening in the. Alpine Gymnasium.
