Show Mrs. Ella Williams and son, Bobby, ; went to M'ilford Friday for a several days visit with relatives. Miss Arvilla Clark attended a social of the Alpha Beta Sorority at Salt Lake last Saturday. Mrs. L. J. Hutchings of American Fork visited Wednesday with her daughter, Mrs- Rollo Thornton. Rulon Dixon spent several days this week at Provo preparing the Ag Club display at the County Fair. Evelyn Yancey returned home Thursllay from Salt Lake, where she has been employed during the summer. sum-mer. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Boren and daughter, Bessie, of Charleston, spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs- Archie Boren and family-Mr. family-Mr. and Mrs. Delos Killion of Shelley, Idaho, accompanied their daughter, Gwendelyn, and. son-in.law, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. James D. Thorne Wednesday arid Thursday. Miss Verona Boren, who has spent the summer in Salt Lake, visited last week here with her parents. She will attend Henagers Business College ati Salt Lake City this winter. The Sunshine committee of. the First ward Relief Society entertained at a social Wednesday evening in honor of A. Holmah, the event being his 77th birthday. Members of the family, old friends and guests . numbered num-bered about thirty. The evening was spent in an impromptu program and social chat. Dainty refreshments were served- The Misses Margaret1 Whittinghani and Evelyn Yancey entertained at the Alfred Dexter home Friday evening at a shower in honor of Mrs. Eldean Barney Huggard, a bride of last week. About fifty relatives and friends from American Fork, Salt Lake and other cities of the state were present. The evening was spent in games and so. cial chat, after which dainty refreshments refresh-ments were served. Section 571, of Chapter LVII of the Revised Ordinances of Pleasant Grove City, Utah, of 1919, as amended November 20, 1926, relative to water works. Be it ordained by the City Council of Pleasant Grove City, Utah County, State of Utah: Section 1. That Section 571 of Chapter LVII of the Revised Ordinances Ordin-ances of Pleasant Grove City, Utah, of 1919, as amended November .20, 1926, relating to water works be, and the same is hereby, amended to read as follows : Section 571. Statement of Water Taker. The assessor of water rates shall annually or semi-annually where meters are installed, furnish to each water taker or leave at his residence or usual place of business, if known, a printed or written notice of the amount of the water tax or rate assessed against him, and when and where payable. If any person neglects, refuses or fails to pay his water rate within twenty days from date of said notice, a penalty in the amount of $1.00, over and above the amount of the delinquent delin-quent water rate, shall forthwith become be-come due and payable, and the assessor is authorized and empowered to have the water turned off from the premises of said person where such unpaid water i3 assessed, and before the water shall be turned on again, all delinquent water rates, including said penalty, must he paid in full to the end of the term assessed, and the assessor of water rates is hereby empowered em-powered to enforce the payment of all delinquent water rates, including said ipenalty by an action at law in the corporate name. Section 2. In the opinion of the City Council, it is necessary to the peace and safety of the city, that this ordinance shall become effective immediately. Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect .upon the date of its first publication, (Or upon the date of its posting.)
