Show the Library, but members -will not be required to follow this, as the books to be read will be strictly optional on the part of the individual. However, each member will be required re-quired to read one book a month., A book review will be given each month at the Public Library, to which members mem-bers will be expected to attend. This feature will also be open to the general gene-ral public- The time and opening dale of the first review will be announced an-nounced later. The purpose of the reading club' movement is for community as well as individual welfare. The Library Board as sponsors of this splendid plan feel it will place the library on a higher standard, get everyone interested in-terested in good reading and place the many public books in the hands of the public. n Organization of Reading Clubs Now Completed: Work Well Under Way The Reading Club movement being sponsored by the Library Board under und-er the Oirection of Mrs- Emma Foster, librarian, and Mrs. R. L. Ashby of the Book committee, is making ra.pid progress in the city. Mrs. Foster and Mrs. Ashby have organized the first club, and have selected the following fol-lowing as members: Mrs. C. A. Grant, Mrs. Will IJones, Mrs. Lenard Haag, of the First ward, Mrs. J. F. Noyes, Mrs. W. R. Halliday, Mrs. Squire Chipman of the Second ward, Mrs. Earl Carlisle, Mrs. William Preston, Miss Mada Shelley of the Third ward, Mrs. Pearl Loveless, Mrs. Earl Wright and Mrs. Delbert Chipman of the Fourth ward. The ladies named for each ward will have charge of the reading movement within that ward and will ench sponsor spon-sor a club of twelve members. In this way, a great number of clubs will he organized au'd the library books will not only be kept in circulation, cir-culation, but more people will become be-come interested in reading. Each member will receive a. small booklet entitled "Books I Have Read," in which they will keep an individual record of the books read and the authors.
