Show City Business Receives Attention of Council City Council convened in regular session Saturday with Mayor F. B. ewman in charge and all members jere present except Councilman Bezzant. Tie ordinance amending Section -! of Chapter LVII of the Revised Ordinances o,f Pleasant Grove City relative to waterworks, having passed pass-ed its third reading, was passed by He council by a motion made by Councilman Moore. The ordinance is published complete in this issued. Chairman Lim, of water works, reported re-ported work at the collecting trench on the mountain complete and the water turned back in the pipe. Mr. Lim suggested that before the cold weather sets in the committee should go over the line and detrmine just what work will be necessary to put it in good condition for the winter. Chairman Linebaugh, of License and Finance, reported that Plumbers bad been at work at the Walnut Service Ser-vice Station without obtaining a license. Upon investigation it was found that they were employed by the Hy Power Gas 'Co. Chairman Line-bauga Line-bauga stated that he had written this company referring them to the city ordinance pertaining to plumbers. Chairman Linebaugh reported that investigation in-vestigation of a suitable building roof upon ivhich to paint the name of the city had been made without definite action toeing taken. Upon recommendation of Chairman Moore, of City Property, a motion wis made by Councilman Dickerson which carried that Mr. Moore be authorized to have removed the tool ioues at the City cemetery to allow space for one or two additional burial -plots. In harmony with the recommendation recommen-dation of the City Property Committee Com-mittee a motion was made by Councilman Coun-cilman Linebaugh which carried that the Band Stand at Pioneer Grove be disposed of at once in order that the ground where it stands might be leveled preparatory to seeding to grass. Arrangements for the city exhibit at the County Fair was left to Mayor Newman with power to act. Motion was made by Councilman him, which carried, that time of meeting fbe changed from 8 p. m. to 1:30 p. m. during the winter months. On account of General Conference and the Fair, arrangements were lade to hold the next regular meet-tag meet-tag Thursday, October 3. |
