Show i . i Flood In Canyon Makes Eoad Impassable A heavy cloud-burst in Deer Creek, American Fork canyon, Tuesday at 4 o'clock caused the road in American Fork canyon to be practically impassable. im-passable. Great trees, limbs and boulders were washed down the canyon, can-yon, lodging against the head-gates of the Power Plant and theratening to wash out the road entirely. The water wat-er coming from Deer Creek, went out of its course, dashing1 and beating against the canyon wall, until it washed tons of gravel and rock over the road. Deer Creek Flat was cover ed with the debris and roads were completely obstructed. Part of the Highland ward members were coming clown the canyon from Mutual Dell and at the Hanging Rock they were compelled to turn back and stay in the canyon until teams and men could come and pull them through the gravel and sand. There are men and several teams working on the road now, and although al-though very severe damage was done, it is believed that the road will bo in fairly good condition in a day or two. n |
