Show American Fork Locals The Second ward Elders and their partners enjoyed a swimming party at Geneva, Wednesday. A Jolly time was had and a luncheon was served ser-ved after the group had enjoyed their swim. Lost Roll of bedkling In American Fork canyon on Tuesday. Reward. Notify Citizen office. Mr. and Mrs. J. Sanford Walker and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Stephen T- Shelley arid family, returned Sun uay from a ten days' vacation at Mutual Dell. Tbey occupied two cabins there and enjoyed the M. I. A. outings of the American Fork wards (luring their stay. Dr. Howard R. Driggs of the New York University, was a visitor here Sunday at which time he was a speaker speak-er at the Parent Classes of the various var-ious wards. Two hundred people responded re-sponded to a last minute Invitation and were greatly impressed with his vivid description and hiHtory of the Oregon Trail. At thig time celebrations celebra-tions are being held along the line memory of the brave men and women wo-men who led the way through the trackless waste. Mrs. Jennie Tanner, Mrs. Thomas Singleton, Miss Stella Singleton and Mrs. Jay Condor, were Salt Lake visitors, Wednesday. Mrs. Stephen T. Shelley and family are visiting this week in Salt Lake City, guests of Mrs. Shelley's sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. James A BoWden. Mr. and Mrs. J. Sanford Walker and family and family and Mr. and Mrs. Siteve Shelley and family, joined ith the Smith family of Pleasant Grove, and went to Geneva to attend a. family reunion and homecoming in honor of their brother, Ervine, who has recently returned from the Swis-German Swis-German mission. A delightful afternoon after-noon was spent and luncheon served late in the day. Mrs. Walter A. Strange entertained the Bridge Club on Thursday. There were sixteen guests present. Mrs-James Mrs-James Chipman won the guest prize and Mrs. Ben Moffett the club prize. During the afternoon Miss Jayna Welsh, who hasjust returned from Paris where she has spent the past two years studying vocal, sang several seve-ral selections which were greatly en-Joyed en-Joyed by all those present. The guests were taken to the Grant Hotel to luncheon. |
