Show , Commission On School For Feeble Minded .lake 2nd Visit i The commission on the school for feeble minded nia'Je a second visit to the American Fork proposed ite for this new state school on Monday Mon-day and went into minute details on the site 83 t0 actual acreage- water, costs.etc. They were escorted over L, the project by Dr. G- S. Richards and f members of the special Lions club committee appointed to work out this ate problem. The fact that a second visit was J made to our site and other information informa-tion gleaned from the commission our city is in the front ranks in the ruBning for this new state institution institu-tion It is understood that the sites have simmered down to three, American Amer-ican Fork, Spanish Fork and West Jordan. The injection of the Spanish Span-ish Fork site into the picture was an unexpected turn in the line-up since the Governor announced in the beginning be-ginning that no member on the commission com-mission would be selected from a community having a bid in for the location of the school. However, Spanish seems to be in the race and got there thru some clever engineering. engi-neering. It is not known just when the final selection of the site will be made but every effort is being put forth by our local committee to see that we are given this state school. Our site is ideal and has appealed to every member mem-ber of the commission as suitable. The water, both culinary and irrigation, irriga-tion, has been worked out and both developed farms an'd undeveloped (arm land is available. Our closeness close-ness to the population center, transportation trans-portation facilities and all are second to none. In their recent visit the commission took data and information which will all be compiled by their engineers and experts and when the same has been done for all the sites the process pro-cess of elimination will take place down to the final one. Possibly another an-other visit, or at least a call for the final word from the local committee will be asked for in the near future and then the selection will be made . by the commission. Dr. Richards and the committee In charge feels even more, optomistic about the location of the school here anfl are just waiting to give the commission com-mission any and every assistance in getting the complete data on the project. pro-ject.
