Laralee Gillman Ron Winterton DolW Reese to celebrate 80th birthday An active member of the LDS Church, Mrs. Reese has sung in her ward choir for may years, brie taught MIA and served as coun-selor for two years. She was also a counselor in Relief Society for six years and president for two years. She has helped with funerals in ine American Fork 8th W, years. "af.jntr She has two children mons, Pleasant Grove J"56, Ackerman, St. George- I"" and Blair Reese, Orenyo U children and 41 mw'.f dren. ple; irp Dolly Pricilla Rigtrup Simmons Reese will celebrate her 80th birth-day Jan. 30 with a family dinner held in her honor. Mrs. Reese was born Jan. 30, 1909, in Spanish Fork to William Carl and Dolly Patience Holt Rigtrup. Her father was a farmer and cattleman, and she spent her summers as a youth helping on the family farm. She was active in sports and chorus in high school, and enjoyed sewing and making her own clothes. She graduated from high school in 1927. She the worked for Sweets Candy Co. and was a telephone operator. She married Ted Simmons of Payson on April 10, 1930, and they lived in Spanish Fork until 1939, when they moved to Los Angeles, Calif. , . After Mr. Simmons death in 1947, she worked and reared her two children. She married Joe Reese on Oct. 2, 1949. The mar-riage was later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple. Mrs. Reese has always enjoyed singing, and was a member of the American Fork Civic Chorus under directors Leland Priday and Jack Larson. A skilled seamstress, she did alterations at Ellison Cleaners in American Fork for about 28 years. She also worked atDurfey's Clean-ers. She also enjoys quilting, and figures she has made over 100 quilts, and has given one to each of her children and grandchildren. Ashton, Alpine, are pleased to announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Danielle, to Jay Christensen, son of John V. Christensen, Pleasant Grove, and the late Wanza M. Christensen. The couple will exchange vows Saturday, Jan. 28, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. All friends and relatives are in-vited to attend a reception in their honor that same evening from 6 to 8 at the Bungalow, 235 S. 100 West, Pleasant Grove. Matron of honor will be RaKell D. Adams, with Jennifer Ashton, Bonnie Lafferty, Wendy Bromley and Michelle Zimmerman as bridal attendants. Best man will be Mike Sumner, with Brandon R. Ashton attending. Bridal showers were given by Michelle Zimmerman and RaKell D. Adams, Robin Hawkins, Jill Erekson and Kit Jordan. The bride-to-b- e is a graduate of American Fork High School and LDS Seminary. She will graduate this spring from St. Marks Hospital as a radiologic technologist. The prospective groom is a graduate of Pleasant Grove High School and LDS Seminary. He served as studentbody president and was active in sports. He served an LDS mission to Okayama, Japan. He is attending BYU, majoring in business management and Japanese. The couple will make their first home in Salt Lake City. Jay Christensen Danielle Ashton Bond and Dorma Bonham to celebrate their 80th birthdays five weeks apart - U s sn On January 17, Bond Bonham celebrated his 80th birthday by attending two session at the temple with his wife, Dorma, and then was visited throughout the day by family members. On Feb. 24 of this year, Dorma Bonham will celebrate her 80th birthday. Alvin Bond Bonham was born Jan. 17, 1909 to Albert Wagner and Martha Bond Hadlock Bonham. He has four brothers, Chancey Hadlock, Walter Hadlock, James Hadlock and Albert (Bert) Bonham, and two sisters: Ruby Hadlock Davis and Mable Bonham Child. He attended Clinton public schools and Davis County High. He later took a correspondence course in electricity and worked for the railroad. In Dec. 1926, he left to serve an LDS Mission to Honolulu, Hawaii. On April 24, 1929 he was married to Dorma Louella Child in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Dorma Louella Child was born Feb. 24, 1909 to John C. Child and Marthina Carlson. She also at-- i tended Clinton public schools and Davis County High School. Bond and Dorma have three children: Neil Bonham, Pleasant Grove; Ralph Bonham, Orem; and Janet Hansen, Pleasant Grove. They have 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. They have worked together in various businesses throughout their married life. Shortly before World War II, Bond and his brother, Bert, developed the "Power Horse," a four-whe- drive general farm tractor which they later sold to Allis Chalmer. For many years Bond and Dorma were involved in the production of sporting equipment for several major companies. Then the family manufactured and sold the Tote Gote, an off-roa- d machine. They have been in business in Utah, California, Idaho and West Virginia. Both have been active in the LDS Church all their lives and have held many different positions in the church. They have served as temple workers, as well as Sunday School superintendent and Relief Society president. They served a work mission in Kentucky and two year missions to Florida and to the In-dian tribes in Canada. They still have many contacts with the people from these mission fields, but feel that their current missionary work in supporting the Family to Family Book of Mormon Program of the church is one of their greatest missionary suc-cesses. Bond and Dorma Bonham On April 24 of this year, Bond and Dorma will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. A family party and open house is planned.
