Draney Missionary Homecomings, Farewells planned J& r " i ' V I Gordon & Joyce Walker Elder Draney, son of Cyril and Jean Draney, has just returned from the Australia, Perth LDS Mission. All friends and relatives are invited to attend and to visit at the family home, 9140 N. Canyon Road, during the afternoon. Kyle served in various leader-ship capacities while on his mis-sion. He reported that there has been lots of revitalization in the mission recently. Joseph J. Walters Elder Joseph Jordon Walters, son of Joseph and Pat Walters, has been called to serve in the Philippines, Quezon City LDS Mission. He will speak in a sacrament meeting Sunday, Oct. 30, at 2 p.m. in the Pleasant Grove 5th Ward, 275 E. 500 South. An open house will be held that same afternoon at the family home, 155 E. 200 South. Elder Walters is a graduate of Pleasant Grove High school, where he was a member of the A Cappella Choir and the high school band. He graduated from LDS Seminary. He enjoys and participates in all sports. He has received the On My Honor Award, Duty to God Award and the rank of Eagle Scout. Elder Walters will enter the Missionary Training Center on Nov. 2. - - Chad Horman Elder Chad Horman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Horman, has been called to serve in the Chile, Santia-go- North LDS Mission. He will speak in a sacrament service Sunday, Oct. 30, at 9 a.m. in the Pleasant Grove 17th Ward, 825 South Loader Drive. An open house will be held at the family home, 1275 Mohican Circle. Elder Horman is a graduate of Pleasant Grove High School. He was a member of the Key Club and KPGR radio. He is also a graduate of LDS Seminary. He enjoyed and participated in wrestling and is an avid mountain biker. He has held leadership positions in his priesthood quorums, has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, and received the On My Honor and Duty to God Awards. He has served leadership positions in Timberline and is now serving as a primary teacher. Elder Horman will enter the Missionary Training Center Nov. 2. Lisa A. Millett Li3a Aiiglelina Millett, daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Millett, has been called to serve in the Iowa, Des Moines Mission, for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- -day Saints. Her farewell will be Sunday, Oct. 30, at 2 p.m. in the Pleasant Grove Thirteenth Ward Chapel, 825 S. Loader Avenue, Pleasant Grove, Utah. Lisa will enter the MTC on the 9th of November, 1988. Lisa attended Geneva Elemen-tary School, Orem Jr. High School and Mountain View High School, graduating in 1986. She also graduated from Semi-nary. All friends of the missionary are invited to her farewell. Zelda Anderson Zelda Anderson has received a call to serve an LDS mission in the extraction program in the MexicoCentral America area. She will speak Sunday, Oct. 30, at noon in the American Fork 6th Ward, 320 N. 100 East. She will leave Nov. 1 to report in Mexico City. Sister Anderson has been working in the extraction program seven years in the American Fork area. Kyle S. Draney A missionary homecoming in honor of Elder Kyle S. They served as Family History Missionaries in Richmond, Va., teaching LDS members and about the church's family history program. All friends and relatives are in-vited to attend the homecoming and hear I heir report. Michael Gardiner Elder Michael Gardiner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Gardiner, Pleasant Grove, recently returned from serving in the New York, New York Mission. He will speak in a sacrament service Sunday. Oct. :)(), at the Pleasant Grove 1st Ward, 275 East 5(HI South. Elder Gardiner served as district leader in Manhattan and reports the church growing in the New York area. All friends and relatives are in-vited to his homecoming. An open house will be held at his home, 696 Locust Avenue, during the af-ternoon. Matthew Paul Bronson Elder Matthew Paul Bronson, son of Van Lynn Bronson of Pleasant Grove and Laurel Ann Banta of Orem, has recently returned from serving in the Australia, Perth LDS Mission. He will speak in a sacrament service Sunday, Oct. at 11:30 a.m. in the Pleasant Grove 14th Ward Chapel, 825 Loader Drive. An open house will also be held the same afternoon at the family home. 793 E. Orchard Drive. Pleasant Grove. All friends and relatives are in-vited to attend. Paul served as assistant to the mission president from February until July this year. Some weeks he drove as much as 5,000 miles in Western Australia. Gordon, Joyce Walker Elder L. Gordon and Sister Joyce C. ClosedSung A St. Peters to hold Halloween Party St. Peters Catholic Church is having a Halloween Party Satur-day, Oct. 29, from 3 to 7 p.m. and everyone is invited. The party will be held at the Church, 634N. 600 East, in Ameri-can Fork. Children are invited to come in their costumes, and adults as well as children are invited to come and enjoy games, prizes, food and a haunted house. Children are asked to give a food donation to the poor for admission. St. Peters to hold Holy Day Masses Special holy day Masses will be celebrated at St. Peters Catholic Church, 634N. 600 East, American Fork, next week. Mass will be celebrated on Nov. 1, the Feast of All Saints, at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 2, also at 6:30 p.m., Mass for All Souls will be celebrated. All are invited. |
