Show Choral Society celebrates 16th anniversary The Utah Valley Choral Society will commemorate its KSth anniversary an-niversary with a special concert Saturday, Oct. 29, at H p.m. in the Provo Tabernacle. Since its founding by Professor Jacob Bos as the Civic Oratorio Society, the group has sung under various directors, always with the goal of presenting quality performances per-formances of the finest in choral music to the people of Utah Valley. The presen1 conductor, Lois Johnson, joined the Choral Society in 1980. Since that time, the choir has presented a yearly concert series, established the annual Messiah Sing-In, participated in the musical production, "Threads of Glory," and appeared on the Temple Square Concert series. The Anniversary Concert will feature a variety of favorite music that the choir has presented in past years, including selections by Bach, Brahms and Mendelssohn, American folk and patriotic songs, and music from the Broadway stage. Admission is $3.50 for adults. $2 for students or senior citizens, or $10 for a family. |
