'. ; ,' I Lisa Mollis Hollis named Miss Valley Lisa Gay Hollis, daughter of Al and Katheryn Hollis of Pleasant Grove, was crowned "Miss Utah Valley" on Saturday, Oct. 15. The pageant was held in Payson under the direction of Chad Hulet. She also won the talent award for her piano solo "Mezeppa Transcendental Transcen-dental Etudes"by Franz Liszt. Lisa will represent Utah Valley for the year 88-89. Lisa was chosen from 15 contestants con-testants in the Saturday's pageant. The pageant is an open pageant for girls between the ages of 17-26 living liv-ing in Utah or attending Utah schools. The judges act on a point system. The interview, swimsuit, and evening gown comprise 50 percent as in the Miss American Pageant. The other members of the royalty roy-alty were: first runner-up, Sherie North, 22 of Heber, second runner-up, runner-up, Shannon Rae Petty, 21 of Prove; third runner-up, Jeannie Chambers, Cham-bers, 21 of Payson; and fourth runner-up, Julie Ann Spencer, 21, also of Payson. Lisa competed as Miss Pleasant Grove last summer in the Miss Utah Pageant where she was chosen cho-sen as ono of the top ir! finolists. With the new crown of uMiss Utah Valley" she will again have the opportunity to compete in the Miss Utah Pageant in the summer of 1989. |
