Others know what they want to buy but some people are still watching the ads and shopping in the stores looking for ideas. You can usually identify needed I items and pick out some clothes, but at Christmas, it's fun to try a jew toy or game. Its hard to pick out a game by tie box. Everyone knows about the all-time favorites, and you can still " sit down and have a game with Monopoly, Clue, Life, Careers, ii Risk or Sorry. ... . It seems as if the arrival of 1 TrivialPursuit,"broughtachange I is the game industry, and many new games are patterned similar to it. In the past two years the Tic-tionary" Tic-tionary" game has reached all-time sales. It is available in the regular and the junior edition. It is a lot of fun and can be designed to play with any number of people. But what about the new games? There are so many to choose from. "Games Magazine" picked out their favorites for 1988. Some of them are: Outburst, Personal Preference, Prefer-ence, Backwords, Not Necessarily Rum, Zillionaire and Scan. "Outburst" sounds fun. Teammates Team-mates have one minute to shout out phrases related to a topic hoping to hit the 10 items listed on the card. "Personal Preference" is a game for people who like to talk about themselves. You answer questions and listen as opponents try to figure fig-ure you out. In "Backwords" you can laugh a lot trying to get the knack and recognize familiar words. "Tuba Ruba" sounds like a lot of fun for the teenagers. You have someone wrap a plastic tube around you, drop a marble in one end and get it out the other end as soon as possible. You have to squirm and bend and it seems to be an action game like the twister game. ' "Not Necessarily Rum" is a card game where you will have to sometimes some-times use two hands tohold all your cards. It sounds like it takes some concentration. ( "Scan" is an unpredictable can J game where the trump sui I changes at every trick. The "Wall Street Game" is ! I finance game where you buy am I sell stock. g "Tunes" sounds fun. It's lik I playing musical hangman. Oh, those who enjoy "Clue" can ' now purchase "Clue Master Detec- I tive." There are more suspects, I more weapons and more rooms. It Z sounds fun! Clue was always a favorite. Whatever games you happen to buy or receive, let's hope they will bring many hours of fun and entertainment enter-tainment in your home for many years to come. |
