Family members and neighbors rally round following a major fire early Saturday morning at the Miles Batty home in Lindon. Mr. Batty apparently smelled the smoke and when he discovered the garage was on fire, was able to get his family safely out of the home. No one was injured in the blaze. The fire department was busy over the weekend. They had responded to an oil ' furnace malfunction at the home of Reif Wadley, 334 W. Lakeview Road, on Friday afternoon. There was no damage. The department was called out at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday when a suspected electrical short caused a lire in an attic at the Perry Bratt residence, 445 N. 600 West. There was about $1,000 damage, Chief Mills said. No one was injured. The fire crews were on the scene for about oik; hour. |
