The couple most recently par-ticipated in a Medieval Festival at BYU which was held last weekend. Stephen became interested in magic when he was young. He read lots of books on it and learned to do a few tricks. Since magic was such a big thing in medieval times, it was only natural that his interests turned in that direction. In the meantime he got his wife, Diane, interested also. In the recent BYU show, they per-formed in the pre-sho- They did a half-ho- program with a few other characters which included some magic. The pre-sho-w represented some of the entertainment that would have taken place on Corpus Christi Day as well as on many other holidays in the Middle Ages. The pre-sho-w included an authentic dance, juggling and magic. In those days magic was often called juggling, Stephen reported. The plays included in the Medieval Festival were "The Fall of Angels," "Noah's Flood," "Abraham and Isaac," "Second Shepherd's Play," "The Crucifixion," and "Judgement Day." These are outstanding exam-ples of the drama that flourished in many English cities in the later Middle Ages, especially in the four-teenth and fifteenth centuries, The Anderson's belong to a group that does this sort of thing, The Stephen Anderson, right, performs a magic ring trick for his son, George. Society for Creative Anacronism Inc. They performed in a festival a couple of years ago at American Fork High School. As far as they know, they were the only performers from Pleasant Grove in this BYU festival. They said that the plays that were done were all very good. Even the little children were completely silent in some of the parts of the plays. The Anderson's have authentic costumes of the period. They have performed in some of the schools when students are studying the Middle Ages. They said that if any of the Pleasant Grove area school teachers . would like them to perform they would be happy to do so. Both Stephen and Diane are natives of Utah Valley. They have four children, including a set of twins. u i Eo AS l Wed.-Fr- i. July 1-- 3 (Closed July 4) yT) A All Children's ICYl Clothing S7v1i; Up to 6X and 7-- 14 rV- f Pacific A f tfBllli Mwivl !
